The Kentucky Labor Cabinet now offers a free prevailing wage training seminar for local public authorities.
Topics included in this program are:
- Kentucky’s prevailing wage law and regulations.
- how prevailing wage affects the bidding and award process.
- reporting requirements.
- prevailing wage duties of individual officers.
- common prevailing wage compliance issues.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to speak directly to one of the Kentucky Labor Cabinet's enforcement officers and have any additional questions answered.
Those attending the prevailing wage training seminar should include all officers of your jurisdiction who are instrumental in the creation, bidding and award process for public works construction contracts. Suggested attendees may include office administrators, treasurers, attorneys, road supervisors, planning and zoning administrators, police chiefs, fire chiefs, public works directors, water/sewer superintendents, etc.
The prevailing wage training seminar can be held at your facility for your specific jurisdiction or can be combined with other area jurisdictions (such as multiple counties, districts, etc).
If you have any additional questions about the prevailing wage training seminar or would like to schedule a meeting in your area, please contact Robin M. Young at 502-564-3534, or e-mail at robin.young@ky.gov.
