Hispanic Services

The Kentucky Department of Labor now offers services to Hispanics living and working in the commonwealth.  Our goal is to reduce the number of on-the-job accidents and fatalities among Hispanics, to reduce liabilities to employers of Hispanic workers and to be fair to every employee that gives his/her work, effort and dedication to the commonwealth of Kentucky.

To achieve this objective, we are committed to:

1.) Developing an outreach program that will raise the awareness and understanding among Hispanics of state and federal workplace safety laws, as well as to inform Hispanics of the wage and hour regulatory system.

2.) To make Hispanic workers aware of their rights and responsibilities as employees in any industry, regardless of their background or legal status.

3.) To educate employers on how to manage, in the best possible way, the Hispanic workforce by understanding cultural differences and encouraging them to be more proactive rather than reactive.
